Hi, I'm Avi Kaufman. I grew up in Bnei Brak – right in the heart
of the Ultra-Orthodox world. I studied in yeshivas, fully lived
that culture, until I realized I was seeking something else.
So I embarked on a new path – national service, moving to Tel
Aviv, completing my matriculation exams, and a degree in computer
science. Today, I work as a software developer at a startup during
the week, and connect between worlds on weekends.
This tour is designed to see beyond the stereotype – to connect.
Come with me to taste, hear, and see Bnei Brak through slightly
different eyes.
Because the way to truly know is through the stomach... We'll taste cholent, kugel, challah, and various pastries, straight from the city's most esteemed delicatessens.
Fifty Shades of Black - We'll get to know all the nuances of Ultra-Orthodox society, the social significance of every fold in the hat and the length of the suits, the intrigues between the yeshivas, and the mutual support within the astonishing community.
Having grown up and experienced life as a child and teenager within the Ultra-Orthodox community in Bnei Brak and then leaving it, I bring a unique and honest perspective to the tour, bridging between worlds and allowing a deep and authentic glimpse based on my knowledge and personal experience.
